"RAIN: Radio And Interent Newsletter" -- the broadcast radio industry's #1 web-based newsletter and the #1 publication in any format (print or web) for Internet radio -- is now accepting applications for its summer internship program.

RAIN is helping lead the industry by providing the most up-to-date and relevant news and information about Internet radio issues, covering both broadcast radio's efforts on the Web and Internet-only radio.

This summer, we plan to botrh make significant improvements in RAIN and add one or two sister publications and associated websites. (See RadioJump for one possible example.)

And you're invited to come join the action!

RAIN
is currently accepting applications for summer internships. Candidates with interest and/or experience relating to one or more of the following projects are encouraged to apply; multi-disciplinary talents are strongly appreciated:

Journalism
Help research and write RAIN -- and the premiere issues of our new publications. Write critiques of radio station websites. Interview newsmakers. Write book reviews.

Qualifications:
Previous journalism experience. Excellent writing and communications skills. Self-motivated, independent thinker. Knowledge of and/or interest in radio/Internet issues.

Graphic design
Work on a variety of projects:
Grab and edit screenshots and logos from existing websites for editorial purposes. Create a photo library of key players in the industry. Help design the look of the websites for our new ventures.

Qualifications:
Creative with a passion for color and style. Preferably a design sensibility similar to RAIN's current style. Previous experience or quicker learners are a plus. Experience with Dreamweaver and Fireworks helpful.

HTML/Java programming
Serve as webmaster to help us add new functionality to the RAIN website, including bulletin boards, chat rooms, auditorium, search function, auto-responders, rollover effects, other Java applets, and more. Possibly add database back-end (e.g., industry directory).

Qualifications:
Knowledge of HTML/Java programming desired. Previous experience with Dreamweaver and Fireworks helpful.

Marketing / Finance
Help us improve the caliber of RAIN's marketing to the Internet radio industry. (Reasonable marketing budget available for on-line and off-line marketing, including contests.) Help develop and implement marketing plans for new publications. Possibly help write a business plan to raise investment capital and participate in financing meetings. Help Publisher with business development work.

Qualifications: Experience or coursework in marketing or finance/accounting helpful. Able to prioritize and work with deadlines. Looking for a smart, enthusiastic individual with good people skills.

Negotiable hourly compensation, with summer-end bonus based on individual and company performance.
