Bloomberg earlier this week announced the launch of its Bloomberg Radio+ app for iPhone and iPod Touch devices. Users can stream Bloomberg Radio 24/7 via the app, listen to on-demand podcasts, view "real-time charts, get the latest market information and news, and access guest bios," says Bloomberg.

A new post from the BBC's Internet Blog details how they "re-invented" the Radio 1 and 1Xtra homepages following three principles: "They need to be as live as radio, content should be immediately and easily accessible and they should cater to your personal tastes."

The UK's all-in-one web radio platform Radioplayer says it attracted 6.7 million unique visitors in August. MediaWeek has more coverage here.

DVR-like radio recording web service DAR.fm (from entrepeneur Michael Robertson) now offers users the ability to download their recorded shows to their Apple, Android or BlackBerry mobile devices.

The UK’s all-in-one Internet radio platform Radioplayer attracted 5.7 million unique users in May and generated 22.5 million listening sessions. That comes down to about 3.95 session starts per unique user.

On-demand music services MOG and Rdio made headlines this week for launching limited free versions to users, much like Spotify.
