media giant to create an Internet-only company, with the formation
of MTV Interactive (MTVi). The company will oversee the existing Web
sites of Viacom's longstanding cable brands MTV and VH1, as well as

From CNET News (6/28/99): "In what shapes up to be a barter
deal, Snap.com will give retail space to BuyItNow on its Web
site in exchange for a 3.6-percent stake in the online retailer, a
swap valued at $10 million. Meanwhile, Xoom.com will receive a 1.8-percent
stake in BuyItNow for $5 million worth of marketing and promotions...BuyItNow
will still be owned largely by television company e4L, which will
hold a 48.7-percent stake...while media and outdoor advertising company

Susquehanna and Jefferson Pilot have joined the Emmis-inspired Local
Media Internet Venture (LMIVRBR 7/5, p.3), signing on the
dotted line earlier this month. Through the six companies
radio and TV properties, 100M can be reached daily and driven to
the site. The company will be run as a separate venture and is still
