From the press release: "Real Magnet announced that it has activated its first privately labeled prediction contest for WPRI, the CBS television affiliate serving Rhode Island and South Eastern Massachusetts. Visitors can view and participate in the contest by visiting WPRI (here) and clicking on 'The Prediction Machine' icon...

"The Prediction Machine puts a surprising twist on traditional trivia. Rather than answering questions about the past, The Prediction Machine challenges users to predict the outcome of future events in a wide-variety of topics, such as current events, sports, entertainment, business and finance, teen topics, and others.

"One of the many rich features of The Prediction Machine is its customization capabilities. Clients can customize contests and questions to match the specific interests of their users. WPRI's contest, for example, will contain questions on local news, sports, and business as well as questions on national topics. This ability to localize contests is a key benefit to media organizations...WPRI also will use The Prediction Machine to promote its on-air programming."

From Reuters: "Internet media software company RealNetworks Inc. warned on Wednesday that its revenue and earnings for the fourth quarter will fall short of expectations due to a slump in Internet-related spending.

"The company said it expects to report fourth-quarter pro forma diluted earnings per share of around 2 cents and revenue in the range of $58 million to $60 million.

"Wall Street analysts on average had expected the company to earn 4 cents a share in the fourth quarter.

"'We are not immune to the current market environment for Internet-related spending, and we've made adjustments to our near-term growth expectations. At the same time, we remain highly confident in our fundamentals, leadership position, and long-term prospects,' Rob Glaser, the company's chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement."

"'Experience in Japan with wireless Internet delivery indicates the key driver of explosive growth is in entertainment programming. From the press release: "Susquehanna Radio Corp.’s Merge 93.3, Dallas, Texas has agreed to be the first test radio station to deploy Binary Broadcasting’s new interactive Internet radio service.

"According to Binary Broadcasting CEO Virginia Westphal, 'Merge 93.3, Dallas is an ideal beta station as they, and their parent company, have eagerly embraced the Internet and have already taken part in the successful beta tests of other web based products...'

"Binary Broadcasting’s groundbreaking product allows each listener to create a custom radio experience within a favorite station’s site.
